Back On Track!

Eek! It's been a month!

How DOES that happen?

How have you been?

Many of my friends are returning from lovely, sun-drenched vacations. Others have been busy skiing up north.

If you have been traveling, welcome home. We can't wait to hear about your travels.

Vacation is so good, isn't it?

If vacation had you feeling refreshed, renewed, and invigorated let's channel that energy into our week ahead.

How can we bring a little bit of vacation mentality into our daily round?

On vacation, we might indulge in a legitimate breakfast rather than grabbing something to-go in the car. Although we might not have time for fine china and garnishes on Monday morning, perhaps with a little planning ahead we can commit to a healthful breakfast. Perhaps we might indulge in a new blend of tea or a locally roasted coffee to add some enthusiasm to our typical morning.

On vacation, we spend quality time with our friends and family. Now, this is one I am sure we can each incorporate into our daily life. Perhaps we might all agree to "unplug" at 5pm each night. Perhaps we might play games, share a movie, or (gasp) talk. Perhaps we might call and catch up, send the letter, plan that visit.

On vacation, we spend time in nature. The beach, the mountains, the wilderness. Perhaps we could bring a little nature into our daily life. A few moments outdoors, no matter the weather. A breath of fresh air. Open eyes toward the sunset or the stars.

On vacation, we dance, we laugh, we adventure. Perhaps we could bring that sense of new possibilities to our daily life. Try a new radio station. Get that learn-to-speak-Italian cd set from the library. Try something new - sushi, yoga, belly-dancing.  The world is at our fingertips right here in NH.

Sure, we all have our jobs to do. Our commitments and responsibilities. But, my friends, there's more than that in each day.

Let's add joy to our to-do list. Let's live vacation each day, even for a moment.
