Oh, gang.

If you heard some celebratory shrieking on Thursday night - it was us. We apologize.

We received notification that our instructor training program had been approved by the American Council on Exercise.

Our barre training manual.
Pretty boss, no?

The development of this program has been a huge undertaking.

Our hearts and souls are in this program.

If you've ever taken a class at Thrive you know how much we care about our clients. Each and every one.

We work hard to create a sense of acceptance for each individual - as they are.

That feeling is why we opened Thrive.

Now we are daring to dream even bigger than just the two of us.

We know like-minded instructors are out there. Those who care deeply about the success of the people who enter their class. Those who think as they teach. Those who continually seek education and greater understanding.

With this program, we hope to find them and give them tools to succeed.

We chose the term ahimsa to name our program. Ahimsa is one of the main principles in the eight limbs of Yoga. It is a sanksrit term meaning: to cause no injury or harm.

We believe that fitness instructors have a responsibility to their clients to keep them safe - to guide them through a class that is appropriate and beneficial. Of course, accidents happen - but we must take responsibility for the content of our class. We must do no harm.

This makes our job harder, we know, but we believe instructors should assess each and every class and teach appropriately.  It is much easier to teach a pre-choreographed routine, but we must respect the needs of those who have placed themselves in our care.

We believe in the intelligence, creativity and sincerity of quality fitness professionals. We believe that well-trained, compassionate professionals can change lives.

Can change lives.

Now, can you blame us for our somewhat scream-y celebration on Thursday?
